I'm certainly eager to turn the page on 2025, but for the sake of getting it out of my system:
Halfway through the year our unannounced AAA project got cancelled. It feels like shit even though we all kinda saw it coming. We knew that the game wouldn't be great! But at least we were building tech and figuring out how to work together and getting all the mistakes out of our system. And now the tech is being thrown away and the team is scattered.
The rest of the year I spent in a funk, a kind of holding pattern. It's all symbolic but I'm trying to get back into the swing of things with the new year.
The people are all saying it but it's true: the games are good, but the industry is very bad.
